UPDATE following the release of WHO guidelines and Governor Holcomb announcement.

Just a reminder that our Starlight Café, Farm Market, and Winery are still OPEN regular hours for carryout business. We will continue to observe the safe practices that we voluntarily put into place over a week ago, and know that our customers are also aware of and will follow the recommendations regarding safe distancing.
To help us keep everyone in our environment safe and to minimize contact and maximize service to you, we ask for your cooperation in calling ahead to place your order,  using a credit card rather than cash to pay for your order, and observing safe distances from our staff and other guests when you are here.  While we are not set up for delivery at this time, we can accommodate our carryout guests by bringing your order to you in our parking lot once you arrive, so you do not have to leave your vehicle.
The health of our customers and employees is absolutely paramount at this time, and we will continue to serve the community in every way we can. Stay safe and healthy!

UPDATE FROM HUBER’S ORCHARD & WINERY RE: COVID-19 ACTION

March 16, 2020

Update from Huber’s Orchard & Winery RE: Covid-19 action

As many of our customers are already aware, in an effort to slow the spread of Covid-19, Governor Holcomb issued a requirement today that all Indiana bars and restaurants close to in-person, on-premise dining.  After considerable thought, the Huber Family has made the decision to continue serving our community, but in a modified manner.

Our hours of operation will continue to be 10:00am-6:00pm Monday – Saturday; 12:00 noon – 6:00pm on Sunday.  However, we have made the following modifications, which will be effective from March 17, 2020 until April 1, 2020:

Starlight Café will be open for carryout orders only, with a limited menu.  Click here to view available menu items, then call the Winery at 812.923.9463 x3 to place an order over the phone.

Huber Winery will be open for carryout package sales of all wine, spirits, and merchandise.  The Tasting Loft will be closed for tastings and the Dining Room will be closed to customers; however, the Gift Shop and Retail areas will remain open.

Huber’s Farm Market will remain open as usual.  All canned and dry goods available will continue to be available, and the Bakery and Snack Counter will continue to have homemade treats available for carryout.

Huber’s Ice-Cream Factory, Cheese Shop, and Coffee Shop is currently closed for renovation.  Cheese will be available in the Farm Market for carryout, and ice-cream and coffee will be available once renovations are complete and we have resumed regular operations.

Huber’s Family Farm Park is currently closed for the season and will re-open on May 1, assuming we have resumed regular operations.

Winery & Distillery Tours will be suspended until after we have resumed regular operations.  We will also be extending the redemption period for Groupons beyond the original expiration date.  If you have a Winery, Distillery, or Groupon tour already scheduled to take place before April 1, a winery associate will be in contact with you about your options.

Wine Club members may continue to pick up their Quarterly Club selections from the Winery. We will also be extending the pick-up window beyond the original end date to give our Club members ample opportunity to pick up the selections.

For questions regarding current or future event bookings for Plantation Hall, please call 812.923.9463 and select the extension for Plantation Hall.

The Huber Family is grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve our community.  We will continue to monitor the situation closely and remain as flexible as possible given the rapidly changing landscape, and adhering to all Local, State, and Federal guidelines. We appreciate your patience, patronage, and understanding during this time and look forward to being able to fully serve you in the future.

HUBER’S STATEMENT REGARDING COVID-19

As news of the Covid-19 virus spreads, the Huber family would like to share some information with our customers about our policies and procedures regarding health and safety.  As a decades-old business that serves the community daily, our health and hygiene standards have always been high, and we will continue to exercise diligence to protect our customers, employees, and the community at large.  However, as the situation continues to develop, we have implemented additional steps to assure that we are serving our clients in the safest way possible.

Things we have always done and will continue to do:

All public areas, including dining, catering, kitchen, market, and production areas, are cleaned and sanitized nightly and deep cleaned on a regular schedule.  All utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, and all serving, cooking, and baking implements are cleaned in a commercial grade high temp dishwasher after each use. This ensures they are properly sanitized before the next use. Employees have access to and are required to use hand washing stations and all kitchen and service staff adhere strictly to industry standards of cleanliness.

Enhanced measures we are taking in light of heightened awareness:

We are reinforcing with all employees the importance of hand-washing and encouraging all employees to be vigilant about their own health.  Employees are instructed to stay home should they feel sick or show any symptoms whatsoever. We have increased the frequency with which we wipe down tables, chairs, door handles, and other structures in our public areas. This includes the dining areas, bar areas, retail areas, and production areas. We are closely monitoring the situation as it is evolving and ensuring that all employees are given the information and tools they need to adhere to preventative and protective measures outlined by public health agencies.

The measures outlined here are not exhaustive, and we will be flexible in the steps we take throughout this very fluid situation. As always, the comfort and safety of our customer is our main concern.  While we have taken steps to prevent the spread of any illness, we depend upon our customers to exercise their own good judgement to preserve the health and welfare of their families.  Just as we have communicated to our employees, we urge guests to employ common sense measures such as covering your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough, washing and sanitizing your hands regularly, and staying home should you feel sick.  Our goal is to continue to offer our customers the experience they have come to know and expect and our high standards of customer service and care will not be compromised as we take steps to ensure the good health and safety of everyone.
